Today’s (sold out) Women in Surveying & Spatial Sciences Breakfast brought together students, educators, and industry professionals to explore the theme: "Navigating Your Career: Building Mentorship & Networks."

Facilitated by Gwynneth Shewan (RM Surveys) and supported by panel members Alice Nicolaescu (Veris), Vanessa Ung (Landgate), Dr David Belton (Curtin University), and Dr Michael Kuhn (NMTAFE), the forum sparked honest conversations about what it means to mentor, be mentored, and how to support each other in our profession.

Round table discussion included:

• Mentors should be approachable, relatable, and willing to share skills and time.

• The importance of communication, connection, and confidence.

• Practical ways students and early-career professionals can build meaningful networks.

Thank you to our incredible panel for generously sharing their stories and insights. And thank you to Western Australian Institution of Surveyors (WAIS) - Surveyors WA for supporting this event – making it possible for us to welcome university and TAFE students into the conversation.

Let’s keep building a stronger, more connected future for women in surveying and spatial sciences.
